in QA, Restoration of cultural heritage: tecniques and sustainability, March 18-24 2018
Silvia Demetri

The contribution made in the context of a workshop organized and promoted by ICE Agency and Assorestauro, held between 18 and 24 March with the object of the restoration of cultural heritage is reported. The author analyzes and presents the restoration and conservation work carried out by Studio Berlucchi (followed by: Nicola Berlucchi, Arch. Flavia Mainardi, Arch. Federica Cogliati, Arch. Serena Mazza, with the advice of Italiana Costruzioni Engineering for the structures) and Italiana Costruzioni. The restoration has given back to the city the Palazzo delle Scintille, a building of the early decades of the twentieth century in the Historical Fair District of Milan which, with its mixed structure in reinforced concrete and masonry and large windows with iron-window frames, is an interesting example of modern architecture.
