Facade restoration

Pavilion 3 is an important example of modern architecture in Italy. Materials (concrete, iron and glass) are characteristic of the beginning of 20th century, decorations and plastic elements show samples of building techniques that can be placed between liberty and modern culture. The restoration project of facades started with a diagnostic campain (chemical analysis, absorption tests etc.), survey of materials and deterioration agents. Works of restoration were done respecting historical value of the monument and authenticity of materials, new decorative elements were not copied by originals but were reinterpreted simplifying original plastic and volumes.
