Demolition and reconstruction

The Teatro Marconi in Calcinato, built in 1924 as a cinema room, underwent transformations and extensions in the next 3 years as a result of changing use destinations and remained unsold in the state of abandonment until it was purchased by the Municipality. Already renovated in 1971 and 1988, following inquiries and surveys from which the conditions of absolute precariousness were found, Studio Berlucchi in agreement with the Municipality decided to demolish and reconstruct the entire building. Given the location adjacent to the other two buildings, the project takes into account solutions that avoid possible falls in the excavation phase of the basement, which will not occupy the entire size of the ground floor. Some important aspects of the intervention will be the abolition of architectural barriers, attention to fire prevention regulations, the search for adequate thermo igrometric comfort, and an accurate study of the acoustic response of the theater, carried out with 3D models and simulations.
