Analysis of masonry conservation status and widespread endoscopic survey campaign on structures

Analysis of the state of conservation of masonry and widespread endoscopic investigation campaign on the structure of Sivas Minaret, in order to characterize the materials and to identify any degradation. The results of endoscopies were supplemented by more extensive studies such as historical research and stratigraphic surveys. The analysis revealed the use of stone in the basement and brick zone in the central body of the minaret. The top portion has been rebuilt in bricks following the collapse of the original one, as evidenced by the observation from inside of the different aspect of the wall structure in the junction between the top and the central part. Structural shifts were also monitored to collect useful data for seismic analysis and foundations investigations were planned to obtain otherwise non-existent information.
