Conservative restoration of the facade

The palace overlooking Canal Grande is a clear example of Venetian architecture of '400 and was affected by a conservative restoration that brought the façade to the right decoration, slowing down the decline with interventions aimed at ensuring better weather resistance. The cleaning of the deposits, consolidations and protection systems have been oriented to the preservation of the original patines and polychromes and to the elimination of the only causes of degradation, so as not to erase the signs of the past. The previous plasterings recognized as unsuitable were removed, cracks and joints were closed to avoid water infiltration which could deteriorate the underlying stones, surface stability was verified, salts were extracted from the plain weave and stone protection works have been done to slow down the pulverization process of the plates.
