Reconstruction of the second floor of the complex in Azerbaijan

The 15th-century Palace Shirvanshak located in the upper part of Baku is the most important monument in the city and consists of several buildings that form buildings-terrace and are surrounded by fortifications. Because of the importance of the Monument for the National Identity of Azerbaijan, the project has foreseen a second-floor reconstruction with forms as similar as possible to the original, thanks to a preliminary historical research and to the use of specialized manpower in traditional methods of stone and wood cutting. The intervention involved the realization of the missing wall sections, the arches, the ogival ropes, the domes and the main dome with an ogival profile and increasing thickness to the top, supported by a cylindrical tambour with four openings.
