Preliminary project for restoration and conservation works

The palace of Organ Hall, one of the most beautiful in the center of Chişinău, represents a typical example of Moldovan architecture. The preliminary design proposal for the restoration of the building was developed in the face of a terrible state of preservation of the building, which featured encrustations and widespread deposits on all surfaces, which had lost their brilliance in their original colors. Seriously degraded were the conditions of monumental statues on façade timpani and the risk of fall of portions of stuccos and frames was really high. The project started with the proposal of a conservative scientific approach, in order to avoid the demolition and reconstruction of most finishes, instead of retrieving ancient colors and decorations, thanks to a careful diagnostic campaign that made it possible to understand what was the original appearance of the building.
