The second outline for the restoration and refunctionalization of the ex Casinò in Lido Venice, which has been the subject of restoration and retraining of outdoor accommodation, was won. The project is the next step towards the redevelopment of the Venetian area of Lido, enhancing the great public buildings and ensuring the presence of spaces suitable for hosting many activities (conventions and meetings, gala dinners etc.) as well as the International Exhibition of Cinema.
Project team, co-ordinated by Studio Berlucchi, will handle the definitive and executive design of structures and plants. Among the objectives of the project: the adaptation to fire prevention and security rules for the public show. The planned intervention (work volume of about 8 mln) will focus on the refunctionalization of the building, reorganizing the exodus ways and the functions provided within, enhancing monumental representation rooms and large game halls, consolidating existing structures and adapting plants for inner comfort. The restoration of the palace, a protected building constructed in Ventennio, will involve (directly or indirectly) all the characteristic elements of architecture: precious stone coatings, elaborated glass luminaires, monumental spaces with decorated ceilings etc.
