Club House and residence in Alcantara Golf House in Taormina

The project is located in an agricultural area bordered by a road artery and the river Alcantara. The site has great landscaping value, being sprinkled with orange trees and tall trees up to the banks of the river whose course is drawn from spontaneous vegetation. The project envisages the creation of a large hotel structure, alongside a residential tourist structure, in a complex of buildings with a height not exceeding two floors, at varying levels of the country plan. The area develops in the hollow of a valley whose sides date back a few hundred yards, framing the summit of Etna to the southwest. An ancient building was restored to create a Club House. The prevalent use of flat roof tiles or green roofs, the creation of large loggias, the use of plastered surfaces and lava stone parts and tuff for frames and skirting, create a relationship with Nature so that the insertion is harmonious and compatible with landscape protection. The general criterion that led the designers was respect for the land in its morphological and arboreal characteristics.
